Cardinals Drum and Bugle Corps Alumni Association

History

The Cardinals Drum Corps was first formed in the fall of 1969 as part of the extensive youth program of the Church of the Precious Blood in Scarborough. The Cardinals first appeared in competition at the 1970 Canadian National Championships in Kitchener, Ontario, fielding a corps of 22 members. The corps continued to grow as a result of a merger with the Precious Blood Majorettes in 1971. The new corps entered competition in 1972 as The Cardinals of Precious Blood Drum and Bugle Corps, fielding a team of over 100 members. Since that time, the Cardinals continued to grow and their program was seen and enjoyed in many cities in Eastern Canada and Northern and Midwestern United States.

The corps won the U.S. Open title in 1977 and captured the Canadian National event in 1972 and 1975.
